Jon is the Director and Principal of Norling Consulting Pty Ltd, which operated from April 1998 to June 2010 as Urban Economics. Jon had previously spent 10 years with a similar firm, Plant Location International (PLI), in the positions of Queensland Manager and Director. He has particular skills in consulting to the retailing, commercial office space, residential, industrial, regional economic development and the tourism and hospitality industries. He often appears as an expert witness in a range of jurisdictions.
Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Queensland, Jon qualifies as a Chartered Accountant whilst working for Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Jon then spent almost four years at KPMG Management Consultants providing consulting advice to the tourism and leisure industries and general economic consulting.
Jon is a certified Management Consultant, a Professional Member of the Economic Society of Australian, a member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Thu has recently joined Norling Consulting in early 2018 as a Senior Research Analyst.
Thu graduated from the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU) in Germany with an MBA in 2008. She also has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Arts (Cognitive Science) dual degree from the University of Queensland which she obtained in 2003. Thu has a particular interest in business which stemmed from winning the YAA Student Business Person of the Year in 1998 and enjoys learning and working in all types of businesses from start-ups to corporates. She has also worked in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, health care, banking, mining, engineering and now business and property economics.
Thu has a passion for all areas of business and particularly enjoys providing business insights through quality research and analysis.

Charmaine joined Norling Consulting in early 2012 as a Bookkeeper/Administration Manager. She has completed a Diploma in Accounting and has over 10 years of experience in bookkeeping of small businesses.
Charmaine is the principal contact at Norling Consulting for any administrative matters.
